Remember Chris + Kelly? I just posted their engagement images here a few days ago. I'm really excited to tell you about their wedding, one of the reasons being that we are just happy for the beginning of their journey. But another is because it was our first sunrise wedding! And I think the first time we could officially call ourselves Angola Wedding Photographers! I have to admit- when she told me they wanted to be married as the sun was rising, I wasn't too ecstatic. Mostly because I am not an early morning person! But also because I was a little unsure about the logistics. I wasn't hugely concerned about the light- because it's almost the same as our favorite sun-setting light, and as it was an outdoor wedding in the middle of a field, I knew we would be fine in the light department. But let me tell you- I absolutely love sunrise weddings after this one! Yes, getting up at like 4 in the morning about killed me.... but on the upside we were done by a little after noon, and that leaves plenty of time to nap!
The excitement at 4 am of a sunrise ceremony is very docile, but you can feel it in the quiet. It's unspoken but still very there. The couple got to hold hands momentarily as they prayed before the ceremony- but Chris wouldn't see Kelly until that long winding walk down the field in the mist. It was seriously beautiful. As the light began to show itself and this magical mist began settling in the tall grass and I couldn't help but feel we were somewhere near an oceanside mountain cliff- even though we were smack dab in one of the flattest countrysides in all of the United States- Indiana. The little lanterns that lit the path set the romantic tone well, and Kelly's gown handmade from colonial lace tablecloths and floral crown with a red rose bouquet just added to the other worldly feel of the morning. But enough of my babbling- here are some images of their Angola sunrise wedding photography:
We went from the sunrise ceremony into the atrium of the church for another first for us- English dancing! Complete with callers. It was a blast!
And then they were off to honeymoon shortly after noon! Congratulations again you two!
